The Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) program equips students with essential theoretical knowledge and practical skills to prepare operation theatres, manage surgical instruments, support safe procedures and contribute to quality patient care in surgical settings.
The Operation Theatre Technology program combines theoretical knowledge, sterile techniques, patient safety and hands-on training to prepare students for professional surgical environments.
Learn surgical instrument identification, handling, sterilization and safe preparation for procedures.
Develop infection prevention, aseptic technique, sterilization and operation theatre safety skills.
Learn correct identification, positioning, patient transfer and safe practices before, during and after surgery.
Students progress from foundational medical sciences and operation theatre basics to advanced surgical procedures, patient safety and emergency care.
Practical training develops essential operation theatre skills including OT setup, instrument identification, sterilization, surgical gowning and gloving, patient positioning, infection control and emergency handling.
